We are looking for about 3-5 enthusiastic board members to help build and shape the board of the new sub-theme of LEGEND YOUNG. We are specifically looking for a diverse group of researchers: early-career and senior, and from both fundamental and clinical research. All LUMC researchers, feeling connected with the theme, can apply. Make yourself heard and seen as one of the main contributors to the research direction on health and youth within the LUMC.

What is in it for you?

As a board member, you:

  • get connected with colleagues across the LUMC and beyond
  • have opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the theme
  • improve your leadership role
  • acquire organisational skills and get acquainted with the organisational structure of research themes within the LUMC

What will the board do?

Together, the board will help:

  • define what the sub-theme LEGEND YOUNG stands for (mission and societal challenges)
  • map key research topics and connect researchers to these topics
  • help position the sub-theme within broader LUMC priorities
  • organize activities for the community (currently plans: Science Meeting, Symposium, Platform for expertise sharing etc.)
  • support communication of successes and opportunities (through the website and socials)

Practical

  • Board size: minimum 4 members (we aim for 4-6); each member will have a designated task (such as responsibility for activities, communication or strategy)
  • Term: 1-2 years (with possible extension up to 2 more years)
  • The board includes at least one PhD representative
  • The board has at least one LEGEND Management Team member and will work together with the LEGEND MT closely on strategic matters
  • The board will meet around once a month (in person / hybrid)

Interested?

Send a short motivation (a few lines is sufficient) explaining:

  • why you want to join
  • what you would like to contribute
  • your current role (and field: fundamental / clinical)
