November 15 the Medical Delta Conference 2022 took place entitled: Technology: THE Gamechanger for Health. This conference was held at the Hooglandse Kerk in Leiden, Europa’s ‘City of Science 2022’. At this event 8 female professors became Medical Delta Hoogleraar among which LEGends chair prof. dr. Eline Slagboom who has now a dual position at LUMC and TU Delft.

In her ageing research Slagboom focuses on molecular/physiological health data-science in studies of older adults and collaborates in the medical delta especially with the group of Medical Delta Professor M. Reinders to stimulate the computational life sciences, with Medical Delta Professor Hankemeier on biomarkers and the department of epidemiology and biostatistics (EUMC) of Professor Ikram on cohorts studies. This collaboration is driving public private and public consortia (VOILA, BBMRI, HealthRI, Groeifonds) and includes developing biomarkers for risk prediction of ageing related pathophysiology based on multi-layered omics data; construction of molecular biomarkers to improve sensitive monitoring of response to interventions; developing and applying methodology for sharing data by federated learning and improve insights in the mechanisms driving (un)healthy ageing.
